Myanmar Journalism Institute participated in a regional project funded by the Government of Sweden to strengthen the capacity of mid-career journalism training institutions in Southeast Asia.
The Partners meeting was held in Jakarta on 1st and 2nd May 2017. Over the next three years we will work with partners in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam to strengthen institutional capacity including the ability to manage the training institutions effectively and efficiently. The project will, through peer-to-peer sharing and learning, enable partners among other to develop relevant course content, master new media, and carry out training needs analyses.
The underpinning philosophy of the project is that the journalism training institutes will be able to draw on each other for professional support and moral encouragement. It is the first such network in Southeast Asia and will be able to draw upon best practice from around the world, aiming for centers of excellence in journalism training in Southeast Asia.
